Companion Animal Veterinarian 



These veterinarians can work in a variety of environments, but will generally have routine interactions with both patients and their owners by appointment in the clinic exam room.  They are trained to provide treatment for a wide range of illnesses that domesticated pets such as cats and dogs often experience. As more and more pet owners consider their pets to be a part of their family and deserve the same level of care extended to their human owner, increase numbers of small animal veterinarian are needed to meet this rising demand. Vets in small animal practices diagnose and treat most problems that typically diminished the health of companion animals. They often apply stitches and rehabilitation casts to heal wounds, prescribe oral or injectable medications, eradicates parasites, provide ointments to heal infections and perform surgeries to treat severe medical conditions.Furthermore, small animal veterinarian often complete spay and neutering procedures and live-birth assistance.



 Exotic Animal Veterinarian



Veterinarian at the exotic animal clinics obtain a comprehensive understanding of exotic animals and possess the appropriate medical training to treat various different types of exotic animals. Reptiles and amphibians that are typically cared for by exotic vets include almost all types of lizards, iguanas, chameleons, frogs, toads, turtles, snakes and salamanders. The vets also provide treatment for several types of birds, including parrots, cockatoos, parakeets, and macaws. The clinic can conduct routine examinations and can provide personal consultations to inform you of the cost effective diets and environmental conditions for your particular pet. 


Large Animal Veterinarian









Large animal veterinarians are practitioners that specialize in health management of livestock species such as cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and pigs. They are trained to diagnose and treat illnesses that affect a variety of livestock species. Large animal vets tend to travel to visit their patients on farms using a customized truck outfitted with the requisite medical equipment. The usual routine for a large animal vet includes conducting health exams, giving vaccinations, drawing blood, prescribing any necessary medications, cleaning and suturing wounds and performing surgeries. Other duties may include monitoring the reproductive health of breeding stock, performing artificial insemination, assisting with problem births, conducting pre-purchase exams and taking ultrasound or x-rays.

  1. Here in our town we have exotic animal veterinarian and they are so nice and very approachable. They have lots of services for our pets, including acupuncture and dental for our pets.
